Our Recent Advances In Research Reeve-Irvine Research Center The Reeve-Irvine Research Center is a world renowned basic science research center devoted to the study of repair, regeneration, and recovery of function after spinal cord injury. Based at the University of California, Irvine, RIRC labs are equipped and staffed to allow cutting edge research at multiple levels ranging from stem cells to robotic retraining to promote functional recovery. RIRC scientists were amongst the first to test the potential of stem cells for spinal cord injury therapy, and research by RIRC scientists formed the basis for the first two clinical trials testing stem cell therapies in people with spinal cord injuries. Our Mission The mission of the RIRC is to find new treatments for spinal cord injury through the collaborative research and educational efforts of prominent scientists and clinicians both at the University of California, Irvine and around the world. Education Stem Cell training grants, Postdoctoral Fellowships and Traineeships are available through individual laboratories in the Reeve-Irvine Research Center. For information on Graduate Training at the Reeve-Irvine Research Center please visit the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program. Research The RIRC is a basic science research facility devoted to studying cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the response of the nervous system to injury, exploring innate and therapeutic regenerative capabilities and developing treatments for Spinal Cord Injury. Make A Donation We depend greatly on your generous donations, which help enable our research. Your contributions will be used to advance research that is targeted to new treatments for spinal cord injury.
